The Oregon wine industry is one of key factors in supporting state's economy, the wine industry is considered to be the most strategic industry due to its constant expansion and its great contribution to the state's tourism. As per the reports released by Oregon Wine Board, the influence of wine industry on state's economy has almost doubled since 2005, as its current contribution to the economy went up to $2.7 billion.
Full Glass research, a Berkeley, California based market research firm conducted a study on commissioned by Oregon Wine Board, a similar study was also conducted in 2005. The study revealed that Oregon wine industry's contribution to the state's economy has climbed by 93% compared to 2005.
In 2010 Oregon wine industry employed 13,518 people offering $382 million as wages, thus it also contributed in state's employment segment.

Oregon's commercial wine industry is having a stupendous growth as per a recent study conducted by Full Glass Research based in Calif, Berkley. The study commissioned by the Oregon Wine Board reveals that sales of wine have almost doubled its contribution to the state's coffers over the past five years with 40% of its wine production sales made to out-of-state buyers. From 2006 till date, national sales of wine have increased by 94%, while sales made directly to consumers has risen by 133%.
The study reveals that the sale of wine in 2010 generated 38% of in-state revenue and 46% of wages with 48% of jobs in Oregon related to the wine production and sales segments. It also states that though Willamette Valley remains the epicentre of wine making in the state, the sale of wine and its total production is growing by double digits annually in areas like Columbia River Gorge and Southern Oregon.
